Hey Mn Hunter that is not what I meant. Cockfighting has all ways been illegal in Florida but the sheer owership wasn't illeagal until the new laws passed in June of last year. The birds were all ready there before the law. Its like you own property and the government comes in and condems it, Don't you get market price for your property. These laws were passed in order to confiscate peoples legal property. Read close the clips they say nothing about catching these people fighting cocks. They are being charged with possesion. What if they passed a law tomorrow about your gun and if you were caught with one they would charge you with attempted murder? I knew Florida was in trouble when they passed a law and gave constitutonal rights to pigs in the last election. You know in the last election? Also the birds aren't threw into the ring. You see I seldom attend these any more but I will stand and defend others rights to do it. I raise a few for my own pleasure and to keep me active. By pleasure I mean I go down and admire them evey day and feed and take care of them. But I would have to move if I lived in Florida. Also if the founding fathers saw nothing wrong with it then why do you. This is a victim less crime? If these people can't count reckon they could also be duped. Thanks for the input Buck

Now expatriate I saved you for last. Any time you take somethings life without their consent its murder. Also these cocks consent to fight at the fights or they would all just sit there and peck in the dirt like dunghills or cowards. Now about David Coresh where have you saw that the claims of the government were true? Ever see the documentary rules of engagement? If you didn't then I suggest you watch it, watch the government as they are caught in the lies about the helicoptors not being armed. You might find it enlightning, but only if you have a open mind. I am no ostrich I don't stick my head in the sand when something likes this happens. You can call me what you like. And maybe Jeffery Dahmer did abuse animals I don't know and if you can prove he did by all means do so. And if the republicans are so powerful why couldn't they get the assault weapons ban lifted. Was it because republicans like Mr Allred jumped ship, or was it because they like the grid lock even though they have control of all three houses, or maybe just maybe they all dems and rep. want to keep the same status quoe so that the money from the nra and gun groups keep coming to the rep. and the dems keep getting money from the anti- gun people. The conceal and carry laws suck here in texas. Cause you see before they had them you was allowed to carry gun as long as it wasn't concealed. Now you can't without registering with the gov and buying a licence. So you tell me which was cheeper and better. Bye Buck "To sin by silence, when they should protest, makes cowards of men".

I see what you mean...you were referring to them passing an ex-facto law. Thanks

The republicans weren't successful in lifting the assault weapons ban because there's nothing to lift. It sunsets in September, and the only way to keep it in place would be to vote to keep it. Recent news on the issue was because the Democrats tacked two amendments onto the gun lawsuit immunity bill -- an amendment to extend the assault weapons ban and an amendment to close the "gun show loophole." Once these poison pill amendments were in place, the whole mess failed 90-8. Obviously, the amendments had nothing whatsoever to do with Dems agreeing to grant immunity to gun manufacturers -- they were going to kill it anyway, as evidenced by the 90-8 vote after their amendments were added. The Republicans would rather vote down the immunity bill than extend the ban or affect gun shows.
So as it stands now, the assault weapons ban will stil expire in September.

Hey expatriate the Democrats couldn't have gotten the amendments on the bill without the Republicans approval. That doen't wash with me, they were in it together.Like it or not. Did you ever see the documentary "Rules of Engagement"? If any of you people out there in cyber land hasn't seen it you should. Now if Mr Allred wants to obtain a copy of it and show it in the History classes in Colo. then I say spend some of my Texas money. Bye Buck

Thats exactly what I meant Mn Hunter. Under the restraints of the constitution, Federal and State section 9 paragraph 3 it says: No bill or attainder or ex post facto law shall be passed. Also amendment 5 applies in this case. I would also like to say that the word razor is a animal rights word, meant to inflame the public to their way of thinking. Evidentally it worked as you used it. Ever notice how when I do something I am killing, but when they do it they put them to sleep. Well what is the difference, the thing in question winds up just as dead. The difference is the Publics Bambi syndrome that they are fed a steady diet of. So please use your brain and common sence, and don't let them program you and do your thinking for you. Well I'm outta SNUFF, and the spitoon is dry, gotta go. Bye Buck

That's true Buck. It's also true the same can be said of the cockfighting bill that allard sponsored, meaning that the weight of congress sided with him.
Also, looks like you'll get your wish on campbell. He isn't seeking reelection. Too bad, I liked the guy.

"Bowling for Columbine" won an Oscar for Best Documentary, and I don't think anyone would argue that it was accurate. The point being that documentaries, like the news or anything else, can be skewed to show any viewpoint you want. You can selectively edit true events to paint any picture you wish. One man's documentary is another man's propaganda.
Do I think the Davidians did anything to deserve what they got? No. I think it was botched big time. But people will always look at the facts in the matter and use them to support any agenda they're after.

First let me say you are wrong about both things.First Allreds bill was not supported by the majority of Senators. If it was it wouldn't have had to been added to the ever so political Farm Bill as a ryder. It couldn't stand on its own merits. Second the documentarty shows the actual testimony of the government in the Branch Davidians trial. You can see and hear them lying in their own words (much as you can the animal rights people on the site I listed). So I am not skewering anything to support my stance. Watch it and get back to me. Your shot pard, Bye Buck
