By the way, Powderburn, I'm well aware that you're female. Unfortunately, there's not a lot of female sidekicks out there. So I picked the most feminine one I could come up with. But Robin's androgyny is a whole other thread.

Thanks Bitsmasher if she hadn't of pointed it out to you I would have but apology accepted. I have to answer the question about gambling. If there was all this illeagal gambling going on, why on earth would they have to use a ballot initive to get it outlawyed. Wouldn't the feds do that? Also you hear of the illeagal drugs, same senerio wheres the feds? Its no more illeagal for me to bet one man my rooster can whip his than it is to have a football pot or a big buck contest or the governors of Texas and Oklahoma betting on the Texas and OU game. They even do it on radio. Besides a chicken is not a animal its a fowl.We are animals so the dog fighting deal doesn't wash in my book. Also may I point out that a federal judge ruled that a chicken wasn't a animal in the 1976 animal welfare bill. Like I said you people are being lied to. Also I love to raise chickens from the egg to the shell. Its about breeding champions not unlike horse breeding and cattle breeding. Its who can breed the best and the only way you can prove you have the best is by competition. If you want any more elaboration on any thing just call it to my attention. Told you all i was old and i think anhausers is setting in from my youth. Probably don't even remember how to spell "BUD" but any ways this here BUDS for you men and women on the forum. Maybe some of ole buck will rub off on you all, thats why I do it anyways. Bye all, yours in the sport {whatever your sport} Buck

I forgot this little tidbit Bitsmasher. Tyson foods and Pilgrims kill and maim millions of animals everyday for peoples entertainment. And if you don't think eating is entertaining go hungry and see if it brings a big greezy smile to your face. I bid you adieu again Buck

Buck, Interesting perspective on Fowl vs Animal and what should be covered under the 1976 animal welfare bill.

Champion pit bulls are often raised for lean body mass, prounouced jaw muscles, wide shoulders, and straight back, all of which would make this particular dog strong and well suited for fighting...

Correct me if I'm wrong, In-order to prove this dogs strength, similar to your chickens, we should pin two champion pit bulls together to prove which dog is the best?

Hey Quicksilver like I said we are animals dogs are animals but chickens are fowl. But to a animal rights fanatic a snake is a animal every thing are animals but that is not what i was taught in school. I was taught that if you didn't know the meaning of something you looked it up in the Websters dictionary and since im illierate and all I know is how to read and the things that biology has taught me I have to ask you to look it up yourself. As far as fighting animals with strong jaws, lean body mass, and broad shoulders i suggest you get ESPN and watch something called boxing or how about pay per view and watch the ultimate fighting. Told you that all of gods creatures that he chose to put feathers on are called fowl not animals. They are refered to by the bible as fowl also. That is why Peter Seiger said what he did about religion. I didn't say it. I'm going to post a web site on here later on and you can go see what these people say themselves. Thanks again you pal Buck

Fowl, Fowl, Fowl, something smells foul.

Your right Buck, 100% right, when trying to turn a chicken into an animal. It's just not going to happen.

But Animal covers a much broader spectrum...

"Webster's Revised Unabridged Dictionary (1913)"Animal An"i*mal, n. L., fr. anima breath, soul: cf. F.animal. See Animate.

1. An organized living being endowed with sensation and the power of voluntary motion, and also characterized by taking its food into an internal cavity or stomach for digestion; by giving carbonic acid to the air and taking oxygen in the process of respiration; and by increasing in motive power or active aggressive force with progress to maturity.

Animal sounds like a bird to me...

Buck, not to forget: Biology which you seem to be familiar with has the Animal Kingdom: Classes, Orders, Families, Genera, and Species.

Chicken's, Cocks, Fowls, can all be found under the Animal Kingdom using this scientific method of categorization.

See cock the animal... Isn't that great!

"Webster's Revised Unabridged Dictionary (1913)"Chicken Chick"en, n. AS. cicen, cyceun, dim. of coc cock; akin to LG. kiken, k"uken, D. Kieken, kuiken, G. k"uchkein. See Cock the animal.

1. A young bird or fowl, esp. a young barnyard fowl.

2. A young person; a child; esp. a young woman; a maiden.``Stella is no chicken.'' --Swift.

I just find in interesting that Chickens, Cocks, Fowls, Birds are not included under the 1976 animal welfare bill?

Guess my dictionary was a bridged one and not revised. I find it interesting that two people [ie] animals aren't covered under the animal welfare act. Surely the fighting clause would get the combatants cause its people bringing two animals together to fight for human entertainment. It would also violate Mr Allreds amendment to the farm bill about crossing state lines. Don't ya think. Hasn't been a judge rule that men aren't animals and they are also defined that way. I also find it interesting that you couldn't find a unabridged and revised Bible to support your theory that a chicken is a animal and not a fowl. Buck
