Colorado Unit 41 Elk

After going back and forth a million times on which unit to pick for my first elk hunt i finally decided on 41.  I plan to get an OTC archery tag unless there is a left over muzzy cow tags then i might get one of them instead.  I know early season the elk tend to be high, but in 41 there is a road that runs all around the Mesa at the top so i would guess the elk wont be high due to traffice and pressure, would i be better to start low in the drainage and work my way up or vs virca?  Any tips for 41?

Never hunted 41 but looks

Never hunted 41 but looks like it doesn't get a whole lot of pressure in Archery 359 hunters which sounds like a lot but compared to other units it's really not. I would still start off high to get above the elk, I have always had better luck with the elk moving up and coming to calls instead of being below them and trying to chase them uphill.

Unit 41

If you do the archery tag and want a bull hunt the mid level elevations in the oakbrush. If you end up with the musszy cow tag I would hunt closer to roads between the top and the sides.
