Hey guys, I just found this website and decided to register to join in on the fun!
This will be my fourth Colorado hunting season and up to this point I have taken 2 cows. My first succesful outing was near Walden CO, where I got very lucky. I basically peaked the first mountain that I could, and immediately scouted a group of 10 or 12 on the other side. My second was near Black Mountain (Maybel?). Sadly, last year I struck out in unit 25 due to heavy snow, bad blistering, and stubbor (or smart) animals.
All of these hunting trips were with a good buddy who has since graduated (University of Colorado) and moved away. So, now I am left to hunt all by my lonesome and I have decided to stay near the front range area and target a mule deer.
I just purchased a second and third rifle tag for deer within unit 38. I have seen plenty of deer on past elk hunts, but I would really like to increase my odds of taking a buck. If anyone has experience in this area, please help!
edit: Turns out I got a DMØ38O2R, so I'll only be going for the buck
