Colorado Scenic Photos

A few scenic photos from western Colorado.

Posted a few photos of elk herds in March in the Rocky Mountain forum.
http://www.biggamehunt.net/node/13736
They were taken right after the snow had melted, so not the best scenery.

Will also post one of some mule deer in the mule deer forum.

Enjoy!

Alright Cowgal, jump in here. Did you ever go thru Glenwood Canyon befor they put the four lane thru? Where are you anyway? Went out 70 thru Dillon last year and sheep right off the highway. Then right in the middle of Glenwood Canyon, a few more. Went on out to 15 in Utah and droped down to LasVegas and found some Desert Sheep in Virgin River Gourge.

Put up some more. You see these Stillhunter? Sell your first born and go buy a camera. Then go take some photo's of those wolves on Isle Royal so we don't get any German Shepard's by mistake. See ya buddy Big smile

Oh yes, I remember Glenwood Canyon well from before they completed the 4-lane. Traveled it a lot. We see bighorn sheep all the time. They do like to hang around the road.

I'm in the northwest corner of Colorado (Craig area).

Beautiful area. I lived in the Greeley area in the 70's. Drove for Digby out of . Denver. Also Ringsby SDC and Monfort Trans. They sure ruined a beautiful canyon when they put in that 4 lane. :-?

Now you'll have to suffer another Ore mule deer.

Nice mulie Don! Are the mulies struggling in Oregon? I know the numbers are way down here in Colorado & I've read other states are concerned with their mulie numbers as well.

I actually thought the canyon was a fantastic engineering job. I like to bike ride along the highway and its remarkable how they hung the road along those canyon walls. For folks that are not familiar with Glenwood Canyon, when the highway was expanded to 4 lanes, they also built a bike path along the Colorado River for about 20-25 miles. They desperately needed to expand the highway, so I felt this was a good solution.

Numbers are down around here.

I loved the old canyon. Toward the west end was a turn out where they put in rafts. There was room to park a truck there. Can't park a truck in there anymore.
they talked about that project for years trying to figure out how to do it.

Have a good night! Big smile
