Hey folks, you better check out what some of the DOW is proposing for 2005-2009. Some of it is a huge change from the status quo.

Some of the proposed highlights:

-> Reduction of nonresident participation from the current 60/40 split to 70/30 or even 80/20 (Residents/Nonresidents)! I'm not sure what is motivating this proposal. The DOW has long said the elk population is over-objective. In-state hunter numbers hold steady year-over-year, if you elminate even more NR's the DOW will have even fewer hunters to work the elk every year.

-> Go back to a Random Draw only. Eliminate the preference point system.

-> Remove OTC tags completely for elk across the entire state!

There are some big changes being proposed and whether you are for against, you all need to let the DOW know. Contact info is on the page linked above or go to a public meeting.
