Regualtion #200, K, 4 "Private Land Only" license means a limited license valid only for use on private land and State Trust Lands not leased by the Division of Wildlife, excluding those limited licenses issued as part of the Ranching for Wildlife program.

Regualtion #209 Special restrictions
A. Private Land Only Seasons
1. All applicants for "Private Land Only" licenses must obtain permission to hunt from at least one private landowner within the game management unit prior to applying for a license.
2. Private land only licenses are valid on all private land within the game management unit upon which the license holder has permission to hunt.

If in doubt, give the DOW a call. It’s an easy way to ensure that you don’t get a fine. In typical Govt. (ATF or DHS) fashion, they don’t joke about making an honest mistake.

I am talking about landowners who have tags issued to them which they can sell or distrubute to folks...............are they good to use on public land too in the same unit as the private land?????

Vouchers use the same hunt codes; therefore there are both private and public/private vouchers. Private only vouchers seem to be more common as best I can tell.

The voucher system was changed last year because some private land owners would sell the public/private variety but then not let the buyer hunt their land. This was legal until this year. Now a voucher seller must allow the buyer to hunt their land (obviously if it is private only) or face being ejected from the voucher system.
