Colorado mule deer units

This will be my first year applying for the Colorado Mule deer Draw.  I am in the process of researching GMU's within 2 hours of Denver.  I was thinking of GMU 371 for elk and mule deer.  I see that it is also an OTC unit for Archery elk.  Any comments or suggestions on this unit.  It seems there is limited access with vehicles which is what I am looking for.

pretty rough deer hunting there

OK for elk, but have you looked at the success rates?  3 of the last 4 years had a 0% success rate.  But if mule deer is just an incidental species for you then go for it.  But get way up in the basins.  Lots of black timber and wilderness there.

Elk and Mulie Unit

Can anyone suggest a Unit which would be good for both Elk and Mule Deer hunting with 0 preference points within 2 hours of Denver.  I would like to do a multi day backpack hunt.  I believe it is the best way to learn the area.
