once you get 3 points your in the drawing. Each year after that you get weighted points that increase your odds. I figured sense I drew a desert sheep tag my first year applying I should draw a moose tag my first time in the drawing no problem.
I was once as opptomistic but now at 43 I'm just hoping that I really will draw one of these tags someday. I drew a goat tag once but was unsuccessful in my hunt and now after this year I have my three points and will once again be back in the draw. It took about 16 years the first time but I'm going to try to think positive that I will get it on the first try next time.
Jim Zumbo, Craig Boddington, Ron Spomer and Wayne Van Zwoll are all solid contributers to the modern hunting literature. Through their gifts (both hunting and writing) they make us better hunters. Whether it is letting us learn from their mistakes or by teaching us new techniques, they help us harvest more game. But I suggest looking to the oldies, the fathers of the outdoor writing craft, to learn tricks that you might have not used.
