Colorado Moose

If anyone notice's that Moose is up back door, post it up. Sure that I won't draw for the umteenth year as I have less then 1% chance, even with max points. Maybe the Stars will align or something!!! Thanks.

I've been checking for updates

I've been feverishly watching for preference point updates for my friends and I. Only two of them have enough weighted points to matter though.  But.... I think bear will post before moose?  Could be wrong as there's lots to look out for this time of year

Moose

It is frustrating. I have been out drawn by people with 3-0 and 3-1 when I had 3-9. Now I have 3-12. Hopefully it will be up soon.

I have come to the conclusion

I have come to the conclusion after waiting over 20 years to draw a point on moose, goats, and sheep in Colorado that if I want to hunt them to head north. Granted you have to put out a fair amount of money to hire a outfitter but at least you can do it without getting special permission for your wheelchair permit that you might need after you reach the age of 70+.

I have also came to the same conclusion on hunting moose, goat, sheep, and bison in the state of Utah. I have looked at the odds to draw a tag in both Colorado and Utah and it just doesn't look good for a aged hunter.  It is also hard to take when you see hunters with the minimum amount of points draw these tages after you have been putting in for years with nothing to show except for the application fees that were charged and no tag in hand.

Agree

Agree Critter!!! It is frustrating. Where I put in for there is at least 3 bulls that I know of over 50 inches and one was mid 50's. He has gone downhill now and is in the high 40's. I have found these bulls in places most do not look. They are not getting shot yet!!! Guess we will see who lasts the longest, me or them!!! My friend did move back to Alaska, so maybe I will tag along one year.

No moose for any of my friends. By the way, bear points are posted.  Looks like a couple of us got bear licenses

congrats

on the Bear tags!! I am going to have to wait to see my daughters results as she put in for a point first and a private land tag second, which is undersubscribed for Bear. I have 6 points for Bear but did not put in this year. Hope you guy's do well!!

my dad drew!

After applying for 18 years my dad finally drew a moose. He will be turning 70 this year and realizing that the chances of drawing a bull tag were slim he started putting in for a cow about 5 years ago. The rest of our group just got another preference point. My dad and I also drew our bear tags this year.

Fantastic!  Congrats to him and to you!  Good hunting!
