Colorado Lion Licenses

Alright guys, I may be the last one to know and if I am just ignore me but.....I questioned the experation date on my 2006 lion tag and it stated it was only good untill the end of April. When I purchased it I called the DOW and they told me it would be good for the first season(1/01/06 to 4/30/06) and then it would be effevtive again I belive either late November or December 1 until December 31. It made sense to me but this week I questioned it again for some reason and through various conversations with the DOW they concluded my 2006 license I had purchased on 2/1/06 expired April 30. They told me a change has been put into effect this year and from here on out licenses will start after the last day of big game and end the next year on April 30. Confused yet? After assuming I could hunt this December on my tag and found out its no good anymore I figured I might give some of you who also may not have known a heads up. I know, I only lost one month but seems kinda shady to me. My only recourse is to write and submit a letter to the Wildlife Commission, and anyone whos dealt with Colorado Division knows how far Ill get there. Anyway, thanks for letting me rant if Im the only one oblivious to their changes. Way to go CDOW, you got us again Thumbs up ........ Brick Wall,)

Colorado Lion Licenses

Lion seasons can be a bit tricky. As I understand it the second lion season was usually January through April, then it was pretty much done until the next calender year. However this year the season will run from november through march, but actually that would be a 2007 tag. Unit 40 works a bit different though at least this year it did....

Well see and thats the confusion, in previous years the season was broken up into two parts, Jan thru April and then it would pick back up on the later part of November and run untill Dec 31. Now when you buy a licencse in 2006, it will be good from one day after the last rifle season in 06 and run through April of 2007, thus concluding the license.
