Yep/ I checked it out awhile
Yep/ I checked it out awhile ago. I would only like to pick up some doe tags for everyone in the family but unfortunately we need 4 of them for our season and there are only 2 left. If I'm quick enough I'm going to get one for my daughter first and after that my son. There will be only 3 or 4 days left of the third seasom when we get back From a Texas hunt but my dad and I will try to get the doe tags in that season as there are quite a few more left.

If that's the one that Exbio
If that's the one that Exbio (I think) posted a couple of days ago, then I already found out that there are not any doe or cow tags in the leftover for where I want to hunt. Maybe that will change next year, when I am actually planning on hunting, but doesn't look good.
Gotta draw the deer tag with one point, and then buy an OTC elk tag. Or, I have to find a place that actually has leftover tags after the lottery and go there. Gotta look at that other thread for the info on how to decipher the code at the beginning.

You just need to remember to
You just need to remember to check the "Leftover Draw" box if you want to see what is left before they go on sale to the general public. But then I am sure that by next April when you need to get your application in you will have a couple hundred more questions to ask about it.

Yeah, I am sure I will. I
Yeah, I am sure I will.
I have another right now though. Is there a place to find out how many points, on average, it takes to draw a tag in a unit? Tags vs. number of applicants? I am wondering about putting in for a deer tag, and a cow tag. If I don't draw the cow tag, just get an OTC bull tag.
Just not sure what my odds would be with 0 points for a cow tag in a heavily hunted unit (62).

You can go to this
You can go to this page
Click on elk or deer and then to the season and tag. What you want to look for in it is EF062O2R if you are looking at a cow tag for second season rife. The deer tag will be DM062O2R for a buck tag second season rifle. I'm not sure if the points listed are for this years draw or last years draw but if you look at it next March it will be what it took in 2011. There are also stats that will tell you how many hunters put in for first choice, second choice, third choice and so on if you want to get more confused.
I just went back and looked at the points and it looks they are the points required after this years draw. So they should be valid for the 2012 season.

Muchas Gracias! Just what I
Muchas Gracias! Just what I was looking for......
Edit: I still don't see the points, but maybe I am blind. I see how to figure out if it was first choice, 2nd choice, etc. But not how many points.

If you look at Preference
If you look at Preference Points Required it list how many points that were required for the first choice but it doesn't list second choice points.
If you look at Hunt Recap Summaries you can figure it out for second, and third choice.

Okay, I think I have this
Okay, I think I have this sorted out. I looked up the deer one, and for Res and non-res, it says 1 Min PP required. I have 1 point now for deer. For elk, it says 0 points (Thought it was more).
So, technically, I have a shot at the deer with 1 point, and a cow tag with 0, correct???
