This introduction of moose should be controversial, at least in my opinion. Note that this is an introduction not reintroduction, big difference. Moose are not native to the Grand Mesa area and to simply introduce them because people think they're cute and like to see them, is a dumb reason.
I also don't buy the statement that moose don't migrate or move large distances. That's baloney, they're known to move hundreds of miles from where they've been introduced.
I'm not against introducing or reintroducing various species of animals, however I do think its crazy when I read some of the reasoning behind these decisions.
Moose will never get the strong opposition that wolves have, simply because they're not a predator, but they can still do plenty of damage.
