Anyone have any locations in this unit they have had luck in the past? I am looking at the Comanche Peaks Wilderness. I have an OTC bull tag and am thinking about getting a deer tag (if available) just in case. Thanks.
I spent most of last summer scouting in 19 but failed to act soon enough to get a tag. I have lots of suggestions...
My favorite spot is the meadows near Sheep Creek Reservoir, below the Comanche Peak Wilderness. Also, hunting could be good above the Sheep Creeks, and is used by outfitters. The other fun spot is around Long Draw and the trails heading into the Neota Wilderness, but lots of moose too. That whole Crown Point Road area has many isolated parks which can provide good hunting.
