Thinking of putting in for a female goat tag now that I have the 3 points needed to get in again. I really don't feel like taking the chance on waiting 15+ years to draw again.
What unit would be better access and opportunity wise 15 or 16? Any thoughts?
Hunted 15 two years ago with my buddy who drew and I liked it a lot. Can't remember where Hawkeye270 hunted last year.
If I remember right he told me he hunted 16. But I am in no way near as in good of shape or young as he is. Intersted to see if the units can be hunted well without packing a camp in. Just a few miles from a trailhead or similar to hunt.
In most of 15, it's a long way to the top. Loveland Pass, Jones Pass and than west side of the Eisenhower Tunnel are the only places I know of that you can drive to that might have goats. That's a drop in the bucket compared to all of the rest of the country available.
I figured as much, just wishful thinking. I don't think I'll have enought time to take another week off if i drew this year with all the for sure plans I have already.
Think I'll take the point this year and try for real next year.
