Colorado Draw Countdown Is Starting

Just a note for those of you that are procrastinating putting in for the Colorado draw.  The countdown is here and you have less than a week to get it decided and put in for what ever hunt or preference points you want.

The reason I am letting everyone here know is that I ran into a old friend today and we started to talk hunting.  I mentioned the draw and then his face went white.  He had forgotten all about it this year.  He told me that he usually get it done when it first comes out but this year he was too busy and hadn't put in for his hunts yet.

So if you are thinking of hunting this year, next year, or even in a few years it is time to get those applications in weather you are just putting in for points or are hoping for a tag.

yep

my neighbor just realized it's coming up too.  I'm all set, hard to sit on the sidelines for too long and not do anything about it, even if it means giving up money sooner than I need to.

I used to sit on the money until the last week also but I figured that since I have the money just sitting in a bank account earning a whopping 1 or 2% at most that I might as well as give it to the state to hold for 3 months.  All I loose is a couple penneys in that amount of time.

I bought mine right away, and I keep changing my hunt codes to keep from getting bored. It's like going on a new hunt without having to do it. Right before deadline i'll be back to my original choices.

They must hate me at the DOW.  Big smile

Thank Critter

Last night I put in for points with some 1st season rifle hunts as other choices.  I wanted to wait until after the NM deadline, not sure why, just a mental thing.

Waited til last minute

Just finished. Some of my buddies just couldn't decide. Sent in for deer, elk, sheep, bear, antelope and moose so I'll wait and see what happens.

What? No love for the goats?

Just surprised since you hit all the others. I applied for all of them as usual.

I can relax as far as the draws now until June when Arizona's deer is out.  But then I think that this year I'll just put in for a point.

But now I can get serious and get my reloads figured out and rounds loaded and rifle sighted in for my bear hunt in 52 days but who's counting.  Dancing

I bought antelope and elk

I bought antelope and elk points in Az this year already since they are cheap enough and I committed to buying the hunting license for other reasons.

I have not read all the regs so maybe I can take the easy way out and you can explain it to me. I don't have time for a deer hunt this year except for in December. Is Az a max pints state or more of a hybrid type draw? I figure to apply for the impossible to get late hunts with a small chance of getting lucky if it's not max points only. Worst case I get the point and best case I get the tag.

Am I correct in this thinking or does it work another way?
