Colorado constitutional carry bill

Colorado has a new bill coming up.

Link with sign up petition is included. We have a good concealed carry program already and I do have my permit but this this is another step for our rights.

Vermont, Alaska, and Arizona don't have Denver.  Great bill, but it might be a tough sell.

That's the problem. Most of the state is a pretty good place to live but Denver sways most of the politics.

And the ski areas are all very liberal also.

It's amazing how things change, isn't it?  I recall growing up in Denver and it seemed that the only place in Colorado that always got a bad rap for being liberal was the city of Boulder.  Not long ago Colorado was largely Republican and pretty gun friendly.  I recall that at least in the suburbs it wasn't uncommon to see pickup trucks, Broncos, Blazers, and Scouts with gun racks behind the front seat headrest and a shotgun, rifle, or both occupying the space.  Nobody batted an eye over that stuff in those days and that was as recent as the 1980's.  Fastforward to today and all the Natives are outnumbered by liberal yuppy transplants coming here in masses from both coasts.  They don't have the stomach or the tolerance for guns or gun ownership today.  Nobody seems to fuss over pot smoking in public or same sex couples making-out in public these days, but God forbid anyone should have a rifle or shotgun in plain view from the back seat of their truck.

I feel the same way about Portland, Back when I first moved here you would see guns in gunracks in trucks, More hunting and fishing. Fastforward today after we got a lot of California transplant thing have changed. If you ask one of these transplant why they left California they say they just liked it up here and the politics are better, but they are the same ones trying to change how we do things here. kinda like they want it like it was from where they were from. It doesnt make sence to me. if you were so unhappy down there with how thing were then why try and change portland to look and feel like California.

In general it seem that what ever California does, Oregon is sure to follow.  I see a lot of commonality with both Oregon and California though.  In Oregon, it's typically a few larger cities along Hwy 5 from Portland down that are the most liberal and make up most of the voters, but you don't get very far away from these cities and most the rural state is right-wing concervative, same as in California.  With the exception of Ashland, I find most of southern Oregon around the Grants Pass, Medford, and Applegate Valley area to be pretty much all for God, guns, and guts.

Boy you are spot on, I'm so sick of Portland, The latest crap they politions want to do is spend $600 million on stupid bike lanes and paths, even though they cant pay for schools and other important things. I really hate our local politions. I really wish things would go back to how they were 25 years ago when I first moved here. I can move away from the city but Portland dictates what goes on through out the state so it doesnt really matter.

Colorado constitutional carry bill

Maybe that's why the liberals seem so intent on destroying California's economy...to drive California people into other states in order to take the movement nationwide!   Big smile  Saw the same thing in Montana...California people moving in because they were fed up with California, but then they started trying to turn the state into California.

Left coast nuttiness, made in

Left coast nuttiness, made in California, exported everywhere.

I think the constitutional carry states have it just right.  If you can legally own a gun you should be able to carry it, concealed or otherwise, anywhere except where private property owners don't allow it.  I never understood why law abiding citizens have to apply, be finger printed, interviewed, put in some database, and charged money to do something a thug is going to do without consulting anyone.

Were not ALL nuts, flakes or fruits!

There are some of us left here that aparently have not been affected by whatever poisons the water here!! Help! . We do however really want to leave. The state has been ruined by left wing Politicians and un-checked, illegal immigration. Financially and otherwise. We are however pretty much stuck to our jobs, in addition to being upside down on our mortage. Unlike others however, we can and do pay it. But for the time being were stuck here with the three witches of the Burnam wood (Nancy, Babs and Diane). Pray for our deliverance won't you?
