Colorado 52, 521, 53

Wondering if anyone has any experience with any of these units? I've pretty much narrowed my elk archery hunt down to this area for a variety of reasons and I am just looking for some feedback from someone that may have archery hunted here before and how thier hunt went, good or bad.

Thanks for the help,

Matt

Not archery, but....

I've hunted in and around some of these units.  Lots more backcountry in 53 if that's what you're looking for. Plenty of people on the trails either way, but space to spread out if you've got a horse or can hike. most of the grand Mesa elk are killed in 521, and most of that unit is pretty accessible, outside of dark canyon, anthracite creek and the raggeds

Which would you choose

Thanks for the reply exbiologist. I don't have horses but I am willing work hard on foot. Do you know much about the ridge that splits 52 and 521 or how about the hells hole area, south of green mountain and north of leroux creek, in 52? If you had to pick one of three units, which would you choose? I'm hoping to get in to an area where I see little or no people and have some elk activity.

Thanks,

Matt
