Colorado 4th season deer pics

Finished up my deer season this morning at 9:30. Watched this guy following a doe for 30 minutes before I was able to get a good shot. 375 yards and a perfect heart shot. Went about 30 yards before piling up for good.

My dad got his opening night. 2 of the best bucks we have taken.

Going to work tomorrow and then look for an elk on Sunday. I did see a raghorn bull this morning but glad I didn't go after him with the way things turned out.

Congrats on the bucks. That

Congrats on the bucks. That one that you shot looks a lot like one that I was chasing around the other day but he lost me.

Good luck on the elk. For some reason the elk on the other side of the mountain from you in 44 are not playing quite fair and can't be found for some reason. I know of one herd that is about 1 1/2 miles off of a road but they can stay there. I'm still looking for that right buck and then I'll see if I have time to worry about my elk tag.

The bull I saw is the only

The bull I saw is the only elk I've seen. Other than a spike in the road actually driving up.lol

They did not come into the area like I expected with the snow. I've seen a few random tracks but not from large herds just a few scattered animals.

Good luck with yours.

Thanks Quinton, You know out

Thanks Quinton,

You know out habit and in my excitement I cut it too quick just thinking of a european mount. In retrospect I wish I had made plans for a mount. I haven't done one for so long it wasn't even in my mind.

Maybe I'll talk to Matt about a cape and bring it in when he gets caught up.

Cool

Wade,

Matt has a lot of good looking stock capes and can hook you up nicely. I seen in the pic of your dads buck that you had ruined that cape, but I was hoping that you saved yours.

Always remember that even if you are not going to have a deer or elk mounted that you can get money from the taxidermist for your cape.

Awesome!

You and your Dad have great looking bucks!
I need to come hunt deer and elk with you. I'll go look for a coues at the end of the month. I just hope I see one. If the hide on a coues will work you can have mine.
