Colorado 3rd Season Success

We are back from our first deer hunt in Colorado and all the hard work paid off, we had some highs and lows on this hunt. It all started Thursday night before the opener, we set our 15 x 30 wall tent up with stove and kitchen, we where awakened about 3:00 am with high winds which ended up picking the tent off the gorund and moving it 50' away....we spent the rest of the night in our sleeping under the stars..

With a quick trip to town for rebar we had camp back in place for the night before the opener. My good buddy Brad and I both missed bucks the 2nd morning, Brad connected on a nice buck on the 3rd day and I had a 2nd chance at the buck I missed on the 6th day. Both great bucks and it was a hunt of a lifetime for us.

Wow!  Nice bucks you guys got there.  Sounds like a great hunting trip too....except for the 3am surprise liftoff!  That would pretty much suck.

Thanks for posting the great pics.  Congrats on some nice trophies.

Congratulations on your successful hunt, those are great bucks that most hunters who live here have never gotten close to taking. I would say thet you had a great first trip to Colorado and bet you already have plans in your head to be coming back.

I'm amazed sometimes on how many great bucks this state just keeps putting out. COngratulations again and hope you come back for more.

That wind was strong...... I thought ours was going to blow away too, or at least break the poles.

Great job on your hunt. Thumbs up

I know I am a little late but welcome to the forum. Congratulations on 2 fine looking bucks. Glad to see your 3rd season was better than mine. Sorry to hear about the tent but sounds like you took care of it well.

Those are some really great Colorado bucks!  Congrats to you and your hunting partner!  Two great stories behind these too I'll bet.  And yes I am one of those Coloradoans that is very envious of your success... but also happy for you!  The tent thing was just a challenge and the rebar was definitely a long term solution.  Great harvest definitely a 3rd season success!
