Help!!!
Good news is that I drew an either sex tag for the Elk only rifle season. Bad news is that there are 12 GMU's to pick from. I have hunted unit 231 @ Dunkley Pass in the past but left due to the crowds. I have a buddy that hunted Ripple Creek Pass in unit 24, but that is where my information ends.
GMU's - 11, 12, 13, 23, 24, 25, 26, 33, 34, 131, 211, 231
We will be hunting on foot; no horses or ATV's

Can anyone offer some advice as to a decent starting point? There is so much land available on this tag that I am not sure where to start. The majority of my scouting will be done with maps until the end of the summer, then I should be able to get a couple weekends out on foot.

Again, anything will help. We are hoping that with it being Elk only the crowds will be down some, but won't know for sure until we pull in to set-up camp. Thanks in advance!!!
