Cobbled together another Winchester

Found another Deluxe stock about the same time I found a screaming deal on this used 7mm WSM stainless.

She went from this:

To this:

Still might switch out the sling swivel studs from blued to stainless.  Not sure yet

For those that haven't seen the last upgrade, it went from this:

To this with a new stock and a cerakoted extractor:

I like it!

I think the new SS M70 looks great with that nice piece of walnut wrapped around it! I have, for some odd reason, always liked the look of SS & walnut on a rifle. I was given a S/A walnut stock from a M77 Hawkeye by a friend and immediately bolted it to a SS Hawkeye I had in .338 Fed after first sealing the inside of the stock. I figured, now sealed, it is still a pretty darn weather resistant set-up.

Good looking M70 you "cobbled up" there! Thumbs up

I like it

Been debating on whether or not to do something similar to that. Not sure whether to go with light rings and matte scope or light scope/dark rings.

With the walnut I like the matching rings (light) and matte scope. I also like it on the other Hawkeye(.358) shown which has a Boyd's pepper laminate stock. The matte scope goes really well with that barreled action/stock combo. The only other SS rifle I have is a 700 Ti with the original lightweight synthetic stock and the combo I settled on there was a silver scope blue rings/bases to go with the SS (and titanium) action/barrel and black stock.

Nice changing out that

Nice changing out that plastic stock! I'm not a stainless fan so I think a can of high temp black stove paint would help. Great looking jod though. I like that wood on the other rifle too!
