Co Unit 62 processor recommendations

I'll be in unit 62 with my brother second season. I've got a deer and cow tag, he plans to get an OTC bull. Anybody have any feedback on processors in the area? If possible, we'd like to get any harvest cut and frozen prior to the drive home.

Thanks in advance

They may not be the closest

They may not be the closest to your hunting area but Old World Meat in Grand Junction 970-245-2261 will take care of you.

Unit 62 processor

I would suggest D & M Meats in Grand Junction. I have not used Old World since the kids took over and ruined my bear. Dan and Michele are awesome people and take excellent care of your game. They are off of 29 Rd and Florida St and there number is 970/241-1073.

One thing to remember is you must get something before it can be processed.

Hey Bailer, good luck!  I

Hey Bailer, good luck!  I will be following your exploits this fall in that zone.

I plan on doing the same hunt next year, unit 62 second season.  I put in for a point for deer this year, because I heard that it can possibly be drawn with 1 point.  Not sure what the cow tag takes, but I don't have any elk points.  Therefore, if I can't get a cow tag, it will be OTC bull tag.

I will be interested to see where (general area) you go, how the weather is, terrain, etc., and most of all, how you do. Wink

Keep posting your progress through the next 3 months with prep, scouting, and such, if you don't mind!!! Thumbs up

I'll let you know how it

I'll let you know how it goes. We don't expect much when we go out of state, other than the chance to cover a lot of miles in new country.

I'm in the Phoenix area,

I'm in the Phoenix area, nothing grows here that can burn.

How's the cell reception throughout 62?  I'm trying to sneak a 4 day weekend to do some scouting, but my calender is jammed up with Monday and Friday conference calls.

Thanks Quinton.  I'll have to

Thanks Quinton.  I'll have to sacrifice Friday morning's scouting to stay in Grand Junction to take care of business.  That hour or so will save me a vacation day.
