CO Muzzleloader Success

Well given the limited abount of time I had to hunt this season (last weekend and an evening hunt yesterday), I am pretty darn happy with the outcome. Yesterday on an evening hunt I got my buck. He's not the big one that I saw before opening morning. He's not any of the deer that I got on my trail camera. He didn't even come from the area that I had planned to hunt. I wasn't able to get a pass on missing my Wildlife Habitat class today and thus could only do an evening hunt yesterday. It was a spur the moment hunt in an area that I've never been in. The climb out of the bottom of the canyon where I parked was 500 verticle feet in a quarter mile (STEEP!!!). It was quite the pack out but atleast it was downhill. Didn't get him out till about 10PM last night.

He's not the toad that I wanted to hold out for this year but with the amount of time I had... I'm not complaining. I'll get pictures up this afternoon.

Congrats on a good buck,

Congrats on a good buck, hawkeye. It sounds like you did good to even get in the woods, much less score on a good buck. Congrats again.

success

Congrats on a great hunt!

I scouted my zone yesterday, and ran into a buck while trompin through the woods. Hopefully I'll see him again during my rifle.
