Deer tend to move down to lower elevations if there is snow in the high country! Try the public lands around the Bayfield area for a DIY hunt!

We have our best luck on our lower ranches during 4th season!

I am an outfitter so all of my hunts are fully-guided all on private ranches. Here are some of the bucks that we have taken off our leases!

I believe there is quite a bit of BLM land around Bayfield that holds some decent bucks! Here is the number to the Durango Game & Fish office (970)247-0855, they should be able to give you more information on local public lands for a DIY hunt.
