Since the opener last weekend I have managed 2 days out on the hill thanks to a nagging cold and cough. Lucky me. I did see some elk (all cows or spike bulls) where I have always found them but they like to stay far enough away from the road and down a nice hill to where all I usually do is watch them. I found them right on the edge of the dark timber and aspens. Walking around on the hill is like trying to walk on popcorn and stay quite, it can't be done.
Hopefully we will get some rain or even a little bit of snow around the muzzle loader season and then I can get serious the last week after I get my antelope in Utah.
