We will be departing Tennessee for Maine on/about 5 September to hold our fourth gift hunt for a deserving veteran. This hunt's guest is a now retired Army Combat Engineer who was very badly wounded in 2012 in Afghanistan. His injuries were, simply put, life changing. He'll be traveling to Maine by way of Orlando, Fl and flying in to Bangor, being picked up there and transported to camp by one of our group. His flight has been provided by a wonderful organization I've worked with before, Operation Second Chance.
After he arrives at camp near Dover-Foxcroft, Me., we will be giving him some special gifts he knows nothing about. First, we will be providing him with a rifle he can not only use on the bear hunt, but take home with him as well. It's a new M70 Featherweight and it has a new Zeiss Terra 2-7x32 on top. A couple other special additions will be a beautiful hand made leather sling made and donated by a fella in England who also provided a hand made knife for our last guest's hunt. Someone else will be making another hand made knife with custom presentation case and forwarding it to me to bring as well. Thanks to both those very generous fellas!
Picture of the rifle and another couple of the sling. I will be getting the knife around the 15-20th of August. We are all looking forward to a successful hunt and especially wanting to provide a veryenjoyable time to our special guest on his free 5 day hunt!
