Close Shots

With everyone obsessed with shooting for distance with either a bow, rifle, or handgun what is the closes shot that you have taken with any weapon?  I have a 5 pt bull elk at 3 yards with a bow and a 4x3 deer at 3 feet with a handgun.

First deer was at 11 yards

First deer was at 11 yards with a 30-30.  Thought that was close, as I was sitting on the grouns against a tree.  Well, second deer the following year was 6 yards..... lol

Well, that depends if you

Well, that depends if you count vertical distance. I've shot deer directly underneath my stand that I could spit on, horizontal distance of 2 feet. But the vertical distance, can be as much as 45 ft. Shock!

This is what hunting is all

This is what hunting is all about! You've got me beat though. I've had a spike step on my boot once (sorry, just not gonna shoot a spike on the second day of a Nevada elk hunt) but the closest was either a muzzleloader mule deer in NV or a rag horn elk with the '06 in Idaho at about 10 yards.

Did you have a backup shooter

Did you have a backup shooter or were you the backup and the guy ducked?Shock!

I was turkey hurting and I had a doe duck to get under my gun barrel as I had it propped on my knee in the ready position. It was all I could do to kept from laughing. But the bird was coming.

One of my hunter got buck fever.

I don't think I could of helped myself if a doe got that close to me, I would have lost that turkey. Whistling

I would have pulled the

I would have pulled the trigger if it had been deer season. But I would have waited to she walked a little farther away. I wouldn't like to get splattered with blood.
