Cat meat eatable?

I read an article in Sports Affield and he raved about it. I trap a lot of Bobcats and tried it for the first time last year. It was really good. I like to try to eat what I kill, but there is no way in Heck am I going to eat a Yote or Fox. My friend has some Asian friends that eat anything is seems, so they don't go to waste.

Back to Cat Meat. It is a pearlly white that looks and taste good.

Cat meat eatable?

a photo of two of my namesake at the market.

They've been dried to keep them from spoilining and then brought to the market for sale.

I have had them fresh. They have a reputation for being a strong meat. They did taste fairly gamey but I had them as an Ope, cooked slow with hardly any water, kafir lime leaf, lemon grass, star anise, until most of the juices have left the bones. Then eaten with sticky rice used to soak up the juices the way we do with bread. I forgot to mention, before cooking the whole thing was chopped up with a hatchet, bone splinters and all. One eats slow and spits out the bones.

I've spent time amongst people that will eat anything. Most things taste good, it's just a matter of matching the taste to the cooking method and using it to advantage, not covering it. I have heard large cat is mild. I'd love to taste Mountian Lion.

Yuk!! Cats are Gross!! However, I have lots of respect for all large predators, especially big cats, and would never personally shoot one unless my life was in danger!

Hi Wiskey,

I haven't ate Lion's meat so far but I got once a chance to eat cat meat. As it was cooked by a professional chef, it tasted very good. I also agree that it somewhat taste like pork.

Only the mindset need be acquired. It's very good, mild meat. Treat it like pork in every way.

Perception often affects

Perception often affects taste, but I'd give it a try since I like eating what I kill.

This one ate pretty good!

A buddy got this one a couple years ago (Baltz on ifish WJ). I got some ground and steaks from it. They were both pretty good. I cut up the steaks and stirfried them, family assumed it was pork, never asked, never told em.
