In 6 short days, the cash for clunkers program has exhausted its $1 billion allotment. Dealers were told the program would run through Nov 1, so ad campaigns were purchased to promote the program.

I'm not too thrilled that my tax dollars were used in this manner. A small percentage of people got huge benefits as did car dealers. I'm aware that business is down for them, but there are many other industries hurting as well.
So am I just being a poop or does anyone else feel this wasn't a fair way to spend tax $$?
