Cartridge Family

Here's a picture that contains a popular family of cartridges, based off the very same "parent" cartridge case. All the descendants are simply invented by making minor alterations in the original case design. This family happens to be a very popular Short Action family.

Can you tell us the parent chambering?

Can you name all the descendants that are grouped along with the parent chambering in the photo?

Confused

Looks like the 308 win.

Looks like the 308 win. family so I'll guess:

243win, 260rem, 7-08, 308, 358win(not sure about this one, was tossing the idea of 338 federal but with the round nose bullet went with the 358)

very close

.243, 7/08, .308, .338, .358

To me, the two big ones, the .338 and .358 look so much bigger, it's no surprise I think they kill more definitively.

Applause

I would have said the same

I would have said the same thing. Seem's there are few really new cases until recently. A relatively few parent cases and a ton of off spring.
