I know a guy at work that bragged for months about hunting. To paraphrase Forrest Gump, he seemed to know everything there is to know about the hunting business. Personally, I found it annoying, especially since he was so condescending in his ignorance about hunting in Alaska.
Over the past few months, he hunted for moose, caribou, and even went on a guided grizzly hunt. Each time, he ran some poor soul all over the countryside at high speed and came home empty handed.
Now he's bragging to everybody he runs into about his buffalo hunt. But as it turns out, his "hunt" consisted of paying $3700 to a private ranch -- no hunting license required. They took him out to the herd in a pickup truck, told him which one he could shoot, and even told him when he could pull the trigger so as to not run the risk of hitting another animal. In the photo of him proudly posing with his bull next to his son you can see the rest of the herd right behind him.
What's amazing is that he's running around full of himself like this is some kind of a victory and proof of his manhood. Color me disgusted.
