Recently in Canada the opposition parties decided to form a coalition governement, basicly take the powers of leadership from those elected by the people and give them to themselves. Now I believe that all Canadians should be offended and outraged by this, they're pretty much flipping us the bird and saying that your voting in the election less then 2 months ago was pretty much useless. The truly sad part is some of us are applauding the opposition parties in this move that if allowed will set the stage for strippping us of more rights.
I know what would have happenned a few decades ago if they tried this, outrage and protest.

Canada's chance to get ahead by declaring war on the US and getting rebuilt has passed. There's a new administration in town, and Canada needs to shift tactics accordingly.
The ticket is to develop a potato program. While the administration blusters about suspected weapons of mash destruction programs and spends its efforts lobbying the UN for resolutions, Canada can claim that its potato program is peaceful and designed only to feed its people. Eventually, the Obama administration will negotiate enormous concessions in hopes of putting eyes on Canada's potatoes. Of course, Canada can continue to keep its potato program buried, no matter how much digging the US does.
In the end, the US will replace Canada's primitive potato program with modern technology that can be used to make a better potato. At that point, Canada can leap ahead and expand its international influence by helping rogue nations develop potato programs of their own --- which in turn will net Canada more concessions to get them to stop.
If Canada plays its cards right, it can eventually use trade and economic concessions build up its economy to the point that the US will be deeply indebted to it -- and then they can start pulling strings.
