California: Multiple Bird Seasons opening soon

For those of us on the left coast, the next month will see the opening of quail, pheasant, duck, and turkey.  My goal is to finally get a turkey out here in San Diego.

Good luck on your elk hunt!  Can't wait to read the story when you get back!

Good luck!

Good luck Sean!  I have two young boys with fresh hunting licenses in their pockets that are looking forward to getting a turkey and some quail in a couple weeks also.  I've already started to downplay the turkeys because I already know how much of a challenge they are in the fall (especially on public land).  I have, however, seen quail all over the place on every hunt we or I have been on this year!  It was definitely a good hatch this year!

You ever seen turkey in the fall in the spot you showed me on the hill?  I have never tried it then, only springtime.

Good luck Ca_vermonster on

Good luck Ca_vermonster on your turkey hunt. They are way harder to hunt in the fall than the spring so you hopefully you can make it work out. Good luck Indian on your Colorado hunt.

I think it will be more of a

I think it will be more of a "whatever I come across" hunt.  There are turkeys, deer, and pig (some) around where I hunt, and I will have tags for all of them.  So, if any of them wander by, I wouldn't be picky. Yes

I guess someone out here just

I guess someone out here just did what I had been dreaming about.  He shot a doe with his bow, and while waiting it out after getting her, a big boar walked by and he stuck that one too.  275 lbs or so.  Wish I could see a photo though.

I can only dream.
