CA Draw.... What did ya get???

My wife is having a baby anytime now, so my hunting will be limited.  Therefore, I only put in for points for elk, and struck out for the local doe tag.  Guess it will be general archery (A-22) and rifle buck (D-16) for me.

Anyone else pick up something good?  Elk draw, maybe even sheep tags????

Same as anywhere else, pretty

Same as anywhere else, pretty much.  There are zones that are considered prime zones, and are given away during the lottery.  We have drawings for Deer, Elk, Antelope, and Bighorn sheep.

If you don't draw, you acumulate preference points.

Bear season is a little weird in that anyone can hunt them, but the season only lasts until they hit a ceratin harvest #, and then they shut down the season.  If you are a bear hunter, you just need to keep updated as to whether or not the season is still open.....

Igot it at dicks sporting goods, I think Its Next Generation. it was $29.99 it comes with 3 arrows that have suction cups and a target. that was taken when he first got it, he can now hold it right and actually shoot. its kinda cute. you know most kids want cartoons to whatch not him he want hunting shows. I think cabelas has them too and sports authority.

Oh, she would have minded for

Oh, she would have minded for sure...... Wink

I figure I'll only get a few days hunting, so i have to make the most of them.  I should be able to get back to Vermont for the rifle opener to hunt with my Dad, so it'll be good.

Luckly when my youngest was born it was in April so i had plenty of time to build up those precious brownie pionts, so she didnt mind by the time hunting season rolled around.

D-8, Anyone know where to start looking. I never hunted up there before. I've gone fishing at Lake Isabella but never hunted the area.
