As long as the scope is almost new it is a good buy. You can buy them NIB for about $130.00 (CND)so you can use that as a guide to determine if it is a good buy for you. It is not that bad of a scope though.
If you present scope is the same size objective lens(40mm), you will not have to get new rings. You may not have to anyway.

One of the most important components of deciphering a new hunting area is distinguishing between the summer and winter ranges for the game that you plan to pursue.
