Burglary - Bow & Blind Stolen!!! Reward

Hey guys, I just wanted to take a moment to post about a burglary that took place on the Northshore of Pittsburgh a couple weeks ago in a new townhouse I recently had built.  The house wasn't quite finsihed yet and I moved a bunch of our items into the garage.  I was a little leary about doing this because there was no exterior lighting yet and no security system and I went out of town for several days as they finished the house.

Well a few days aftewards someone forced their way through a back door and ransacked all my items in the garage.  They stole the following items:  left handed Fred Bear Whitetail Quest bow that has a whisker biscuit, black and yellow bow string, string whiskers, tru glo sight and black stabilizer.  They also stole all the arrows from the case too which are Carbon Fury 6075 arrows with orange and yellow fletching and orange nocks.

In addition, they also stole a new Ameristep Brickhouse pop-up blind.

I'm offering a reward for any information leading to the capture of the thieves and/or return of the items.  I figure these items will surface somewhere.  I'm working with two detectives from the Pittsburgh City Police, one in which I'm friends with and I know they will be monitoring pawn shops etc. in the area.

I attached pics of the items (the pic of the bow is before I had the bowstring replaced.  The new bowstring is black and yellow).  Any help you guys can lend would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks!!!

Sorry to hear that.  Thieves suck!!!! Mad

Keep checking craigslist and places like that.  They have a way of finding their way onto those sites.

I been browsing craigslist and ebay...nothing yet.  I think its funny because I'm left-handed and I'm assuming whoever broke in wasn't, and I'm hoping that is what will make it surface somewhere!  Have a good one buddy.

i've found stuff stolen from

i've found stuff stolen from the place i used to work for at pawn shops. it was still marked with the company name and everything.

I notified the guy at the pawn shop that the equipment was not sold legally and he had a direct line to a detective and provided the police with the information he had.

most pawn shop owners probably aren't bad when it comes to that sort of thing.

if the crooks were smart, they'd take the stuff out of the area and sell it. but that's why they're crooks, because the usually lack that kind of higher brain function.

sorry about your stuff. i've lost my share to thieves as well. and it's a pretty low feeling. good luck trying to get it back.

Thanks guys, will keep you

Thanks guys, will keep you updated.  The detective told me they will be scouring the local pawnshops for the items.  I also posted a local "reward" for stolen items on craigslist to see if that gets me anywhere.  I figure I'm gonna start looking at some new bows next month unless mine happens to turn up!

New Bow

So my stolen items never showed up anywhere and archery season is soon approaching.  I went ahead and purhcased the Bear Carnage.  Can't wait to shoot her.  Should be arriving this week!

Sorry to hear they did not

Sorry to hear they did not catch the thieves and you were not able to recover your equipment in time for archery season.  Even though it is a long shot, we will all keep our fingers crossed that they will still find the b$523rds.

On a brighter note, I have read that the Bear Carnage is an awesome bow!  I hope it serves you well for many years to come.

dumb people

Considering I pack thousands of dollars of gear into the woods and leave it for a week or two here and there this is scary.  I cannot imagine how crazy you would have to be to steal from someones hunt camp.  I had my brand new tundra bashed in a parking lot yesterday and it was a reminder just like this story that people sometimes really suck.
