Laughing out loud

All right you guys. Grow UP! If you have issues with a hunting buddy or your wife, use communication to resolve it. We can all gripe and complain about something but unless we are willing to give 100% to resolving it, then shut up.
I married my best friend and we both enjoy hunting. I would have to say that I enjoy it more than my husband but there is just something about taking my Ruger 300 Win. Mag. for long walks through the Colorado high country that gives me piece of mind. The added thrill, to that, is if I get to put some meat in the freezer. What gripes my hind end is when I do shoot a nice respectable animal, the attitudes that many men have about a woman outdoing them when it comes to hunting is pathetic. I didn't know that you needed testosterone to be able to get a slap on the back and a well done. I have had so many men come up and look at the rack in the back of the truck and assume that it is my husbands. Then when informed that a woman shot it they all of a sudden have somewhere else to be. Grow up! If congratulations are due for a good looking animal give them whether it was shot by a man or woman.

Well Wonderwoman, that surely aint me. I celebrate an honorable kill with any hunting partner I'm with man, women, child, elderly, whoever. It's a great moment especially if I participated in any way.

buddies that ditch you

wonderwomen tell me this or help me with this.
I date my ol-lady and she knows i hunt its cool what ever sometimes she went after i married her she has only went a few times keep in mind i have been married for 14 years and now she cant stop bitching about it,she tells me i care more about the hunting than my family and before i go ill say hey im going hunting ok she said but when i get back im a no good son of a bitch sorry to cuss just trying to give you detail so you can explain to me better. I work my butt off at work for the goodthings in life so what should it matter if i go hunting couple weeks of the year. she knows and i have told her this is who i am you married me knowing what i do, and i cant change that. this goes on every year so tell me what do i do. Its like the wife's say one thing but really mean the opposite ya i dont care if you go {no stay home so i can get mad at you for something else } I say dammed if you do and dammed if you dont.
Im not trying to pick on your kind {wife's} but that is how it goes for 80 percent of male hunters. she use to hunt with me now its to cold or i hate getting up early you know that stuff

Have you tried talking to her about this. If she used to like to go hunting then what happened? If it is the to cold then pick a hunting season that is more mild temp. If it is getting up to early, let her sleep in and go out on the evening hunt. There are comprimises to every situation. We used to live in Nebr. and I bitched that it was to cold to go out in -40 windchill and go pheasent hunting. My hubby tried to comprimise and offered to buy me a dog sled and dogs so I could have some sort of activity in the winter. Get some good winter hunting clothes. I agree that freezing your ass off is not fun hunting but if you have good clothes and good boots to keep you toasty then things might change. If nothing else give her a bottle of peppermint schnapps, that always seems to keep me warm and after a few belts hunting in the cold is more enjoyable. We just got back from an early scouting trip to the mountains where we will be hunting elk next week. Talk about nasty. 20 degrees and windy with snow coming down like crazy. But you know there is a peacefull stillness getting up in the morning and watching for the elusive elk or deer. I wouldn't trade it for anything. Good luck with the wife and try some compromises????
