I have one on my Winchester. I didn't like the muzzle blast so I called Winchester and they sent me the CR (conventional recoil) muzzle weight.....no charge. It's been on the gun ever since. As far as helping accuracy, I cant really say. If I had to do it over again, I'd leave it off. That's my opinion, YMMV. It will be interesting to see some other opinions.
Browning White Gold Medallion .30-06 w/BOSS. Love it. Recoil reduction is significant. The BOSS is supposed to enhance accuracy. Don't know one way or the other, but I do know my rifle is very accurate (but not necessarily more so than a Rem 700, e.g.). Do some searching here and you'll find some more replies/reviews about the BOSS and other muzzle breaks.
One of the things I struggle with when afield is keeping my rifle clean and in good working order. Small amounts of dust and dirt collect moisture; moisture can freeze rendering your action immovable when you need it most. I have seen this happen on multiple occasions, and over time, I’ve learned the cause and how to prevent this from happening.
The first thing that you need to avoid before going afield is leaving excess oil on the gun. Oil will trap dirt and sand in all the wrong places....
