I have shot the nocks off of several of my arrows, and I was wondering what people think about replacing the nocks. The arrows I am shooting are Gold Tip Expedition Hunters, so they do not have the metal reinforcement ring at the nock end of the shaft. My concern is that when I shot the nocks of these arrows, the impact may have caused some structural damage to the shaft that is not visible to the naked eye, thereby creating a safety hazard? Also, since the damage would be so far back on the arrow, flexing and twisting the arrows, as suggested by Goosehunter in his Tip, would not adequately validate the safety of the arrows? Am I being unnecessarily cautious, or is my concern valid? Thanks for any opinions shared in advance.
