Breech plug removal

Before I get into trouble, what is involved in removing the breech plug for a Thompson Center Hawken style barrel?

I don't know of anyone who has removed one. Why do you need to?

On the traditionals...gunsmiths are usually the only ones that mess with the breech plugs. I've never had the need to have one taken out. Cleaning I use hot soapy water with a bore brush then a patched jag. I use the fouling scraper tip for the breech plug area.
