Iowa Bow Hunt

There are good public areas all over southern Iowa, NE Iowa, and western Iowa.  They are easy to find, the Iowa Sportsman's Atlas is a great resource for about $25 bucks.  Depending on where you live I assume you will cosider the hunting low pressure, especially during the weekdays.  Van Buren County is a good choice.  Decatur County has some good areas too.  The Loess Hills area in western Iowa is also a good choice for big bucks.  If any deer will do there are many areas with high deer numbers, for larger bucks you will want to stick with the areas listed above.  Do not rule out getting access to private ground.  There are still some land owners that will let you hunt simply by asking.
