Sawbill, I can't hunt with bait in the state of Washington and its a public land hunt with no guide. I will take any advice you can give gladfully, since this will be my first bear hunt and I don't know much at all about bears. I have a general idea where we have seen bears before, next to a watering whole and this was my first unit choice for the spring bear drawing. We are going to set up a ground blind and see what happens. In Washington you can use any legal weapon when hunting bear so my dad is going to bring his 7mm but I get the first crack with the bow . Have you ever had any luck with ground blinds hunting bears??? Any info on shot placement for bears would be great. Even if I don't get pulled for spring bear I'am going to go general season this year. Thanks for any info!!
