I am hearing discussion of a public area in central Illinois that is archery only. It supposedly consists of 20000 acres. Does anyone know of a public land area that fits this description. Any information would be appreciated.
Don't know if you found any information on this, but I don't know of a public bowhunt only that is 20000. I know of a resident only bow hunting only call Buckhorn Unit. Checkout Illinos DNR website. They have a list of all public areas.
From the books that I have read, there is a lot of importance in knowing every nook and cranny of your hunting territory as well as the animal that you are hunting. So scouting as much as possible, just walking the land, will give you a good idea of what's around the corner or what's on the other side of a hill. Which can be very beneficial.
