Bow Hunting around Scrapes Early Season

i found a thre fresh scrapes in between two 5 year old cut overs with a fresh rub, and a strong smell of urine. my question is how often will that buck check that scrape. how should i go about hunting that spot, and how could i lure that deer out of the cut over to get that perfect shot.

That deer may only check it once a week especially how early in the year it is. Once the rut kicks in he may go every couple days. The best way to lure him may to use estrous scent when you hunt and maybe do a little light rattling, making him think another buck is invading his area. I would not hunt right over the scrape, Id hunt 50-100yds away from it. Keep scent free and cross your fingers.

Thanks a lot for answering my question, Do you think buck urine would be good to use in this situation? And what time of day do you think is best?

Buck urine would be good if the buck in your area is a mature buck. A smaller buck would shy away. I like the mornings the best, but sometimes those cool afternoons are magic. Either will produce it just depends on what you want to do. I hunt both times of the day and have seen some monsters in the morning and evening. Ive shot 5 bucks in the evening and 4 in the morning. I cant say one is better than the other. I would not use the buck urine unless you are absolutely sure the one you are hunting is the big daddy. Stick with doe in rut when the rut hits. If you know someone who shoots a small buck or a doe have them cut off the tarsal glands and use them for scent. I like tinks 69 or knight and hales doe estrous.
