Unfortunately no morning hunt today. The rain was coming down pretty good here. The afternoon is suppose to clear up a little so it looks like there will be a pretty good chance we will be going out. Good luck and happy hunting to all.

This weekend has just been a wash as far as hunting goes. Everytime I thought I would be going out, something always came up. We did not get out this evening either. As of right now nothing is going on for Monday. Chances are looking good we will be going out Monday morning. As long as the weather cooperates this week, we are going to try and get out every morning and evening through Thursday. Friday night I will have to go back to work. By the way my high school team won again so we will be playing in the regional finals this Saturday. Good luck and happy hunting to all.

ManoftheFall, do the high schools play all their football games on Saturdays, even during the regular season? High schools here play football games on Friday nights. Interesting the Saturday scheduled games. Do they play in the evening time or during the day time?

We play our first game of the
We play our first game of the season on Thursday night. The next 9 games are on Friday night. Then, if you qualify, your team makes the playoffs. There 6 divisions. 2, 4, 6, play on Friday night. 1, 3, 5 play on Saturday night. 32 teams make it from each division. So, if you win the next 5 games you are state champion in your division. The championship week there are three games on Friday and three games on Saturday. Usually they are like at 12, 4, and 8. We are in week 3 of the playoffs now which is the regional championship game. Next week is the state semi-finals.

We only got out yesterday
We only got out yesterday morning. We seen two little bucks which she chose to let walk. We did not go out this morning due to the high winds and rain. We are going to try and go out this evening, tomorrow morning and evening, and Friday evening. I have to go back to work Friday night so that is why we aren't going out Friday morning. Happy hunting and good luck to all.

This morning was a little
This morning was a little better than it has been the past few days. I heard one behind us right around 7 am. I turned to see it was a doe. Not to long after I seen her she busted out of there pretty quick. I heard some movement behind us and I looked and seen it was Brutus. I told my daughter be ready. He crossed an opening about 50 yards behind us then cut into the woods. He started to come up towards us but must of caught the scent of that doe because he turned and put his nose to the ground and took off the same direction she went. We both had our bows with us and I heard something out in front of us and turned to see it was a doe and a button buck coming in towards us. I told my daughter if I can get a shot at the doe I was taking her out. Just before I had my bow completely up she picked her head up and looked right at me. She did a couple of head bobs and trotted off. Just about 5 more seconds I would have had her. I decided to try some rattling. As I was rattling I heard some crashing sound coming down the hill. I looked up there and seen the tall 8 point I seen the other day. Once again I told my daughter to be ready. He was coming right for us. He stopped about 3 yards from our shooting lane and stood there for a minute or two. She had her bow up so all she had to do was wait for a shot. He turned right and started walking I grunted lightly and he stopped about 25 yards away but she didn't have a shot. He continued to slowly walk off and that was it. So close, but yet so far. We will be at it again soon. Good luck and happy hunting to all.
