I took out that old piece of

I took out that old piece of junk thing you call a bow Tuesday evening, and once again I missed an easy close range broad side shot. I can't figure it out. At home, in target practice, it is shooting fine. Out in the field is a whole different story. I have no idea where that arrow is going to go. So i said to myself that is it. I'm not taking out this bow anymore. Mine and my son's bow's are suppose to be in either today or Friday at the latest. but, you all know how that has been going. I'm guessing it has to be that the bow is about 60 feet per second slower and it must be the angle of the shot because I practice from the ground. My vacation starts this next week so it better be done before then. This really sucks bad. I know if I had my bow right now and from the start of the season, I would be done with all of my doe tags and only have the big boy to worry about. Good luck to all!!!!!

I took this buck monday, we elected to remove him given a chance. He has very palmated antlers ,but a small eight point 3.5 years old. The doe was just a little iceing on the cake. They are moving here pretty good now.

Satchmo, score him and enter

Satchmo, score him and enter him on the scorecard page. Good job. You are the first to score on a buck in the contest.

Well, no bows yet today. We

Well, no bows yet today. We will be getting our bows regardless on Friday. I have used bows with cracked limbs before. I will just have the shop call us when the parts are in and they can fix them then. I figured out what was wrong with the other bow though. I went to adjust the sight and the pin moved before I loosened it. I didn't realize that when I had it tight it was still moving. I tried to make it as tight as I could but it would still move. Well, I am done with that old thing and will have my bow back on Friday and the deer will start falling. Good luck to all.

I figured out the old bow's

I figured out the old bow's problem. The sight pin, no matter how tight I make it won't stay completely tight. So the pin was moving around without me realizing it. I did not realize this was happening until today. I also found out we are getting our bows back on Friday no matter what. Fixed or not. If they aren't fixed we can still use them. Also, if they aren't fixed the shop will call us when the parts come in and I can take them out there and have them fixed up right away. I wished we would have done this all along but I didn't think about doing it this way. Oh well, what's done is done and the next chapter in this year's deer season is about to begin. My vacation starts Tuesday and I don't have to go back to work until November 19th. My son and I will be hunting Saturday morning, evening, and he will probably be hunting Sunday morning. We will both go out Sunday evening then he will go out Monday morning alone again. We will hunt together Monday evening, then he will hunt Tuesday morning. Then it is on for 3 1/2 weeks my vacation begins. Yeah!!!!! Happy hunting to all and good luck to all.

Well, my son and I have our bows back, fixed and ready to go. We just got back in from making sure they were sighted in. We are both dead on at 25 yards. It feels like opening day is tomorrow. It will be nice sitting up in the stand knowing when I shoot my arrow is actually going to hit it's spot. Here is a pic of one of the bucks that was over by those scrapes I told you about. We also seen several smaller ones there as well. There have also been alot of does visiting these scrapes which I really like to see. The pics are of a very nice 8 point. Although at this point I haven't determined if he is a shooter. I think he may be a borderline buck and need one more year. By the way, at this point the camera had only been there 2 1/2 days.

My son and I went out this

My son and I went out this morning with OUR bows. We seen a few and the only one in shooting range was a doe fawn. I almost was able to take out a turkey but they cut in behind me and I was unable to get any shots at them. We may be going back out again this evening.

I was out this evening and I

I was out this evening and I seen a few. My buddy was also out on the same property I was hunting on and he shot the 9 point that I called The Off limit 9. He looks to be about a 3 year old, possibly a 2 year old. I was hoping this buck would make it at least 1 more year but he fell to my buddy's arrow. That's why I called him The Off Limit 9. My son will probably get out in the morning but I probably won't be getting back out until Monday or Tuesday evening. Monday night is the last night I will be working for about 3 1/2 weeks. So, I will be putting alot of time in the stand over those 3 1/2 weeks. Hopefully I will nail my buck in that time frame. I will post up some pics of my buddy with the buck. I will also throw in a few of the trail cam shots I had of him as well. Good luck to all.
