Well, it's Friday again.

Well, it's Friday again. Supposedly my son's bow and my bow are suppose to be done today. If I hear it will be another week again I will literally scream. I just really hope we get them back. The weekend is suppose to be nice and cool with lows in the 30's. We might finally get some decent hunting weather.

Well, still no bows. He did

Well, still no bows. He did call them when I was there and they said everything is ready and all they have to do is ship the parts. He asked them if he could guarantee if he could tell his customer he would have his bow by Wednesday and they told him maybe not Wednesday but towards the end of the week. Well if we don't get them Wednesday his shop is closed on Thursday so it will be Friday again. Yes I am steaming mad but at least we got a more concrete answer this time. I will be taking out the old bow again this weekend and again into next week. I went out and shot it a few times and it is a good thing I did cause the sights came loose and I was shooting about 18 inches high but I solved that problem and should be ready to go for Saturday. Good luck to all.

I just looked up hte 10 day

I just looked up hte 10 day forecast on the weather channel. The average day time high for the next 10 days is 60.5. The average night time low is 42.2. That is about a 10 degree difference from last week. There is also a 30%-40% chance of rain on 4 of those days. Three of the days are suppose to be sunny and the other 3 partly cloudy. Sounds like the weather is turning and we are coming out of the October lull. The pre-rut will be kicking in here probably next week. It will definitely be time to break out the antlers.

It had to be one of my most

It had to be one of my most irritating days ever in the tree stand. I got into the stand around 4. THen I sat there for nearly 2 hours waiting on prime time. About 8 minutes til 6 I seen my first deer and thw temperatures were dropping rapidly. About 10 after 6 I could tell this doe was getting very agitated. All of a sudden she trotted off. I thought maybe here comes a buck. Then I heard voices coming from behind me. Then all of a sudden it sounded like I was in the middle of a war zone. I finally decided to get down about 6:45. The neighbor must have fired off at least 500 or more rounds. I know he has the right to do it but it was so irritating. There for 2 hours, deer start coming in , it's prime time, then boom. The thing that really irritated me is they know there are bow hunters in the woods and yet they still do this. I just can't understand. Why would someone take their gun out and start shooting at 6:15 in the evening. Oh well, I'm done ranting. Hopefully tomorrow will be a better day. Good luck to all.

Well, it's one of two things.

Well, it's one of two things. 1. He was/is an Ohio State fan and he is trying to release some anger/frustation on the countryside or 2. He is a Wisconsin Badgers fan and he was rubbing your nose in it. LOL. lol

Get after those deer. You better get this bow situation straightened out soon because the rut is getting near. You don't want to come on this site to us you missed brutus at 10 yards while he was chasing a doe. Draw level and bend at the waist. That could be something you are forgeting to do. Good luck.

After last night's fiasco I

After last night's fiasco I was hoping for a much better morning today. It was better but there is still a problem. It's this dang bow. I am not a bad shot, but this is the 4th deer I have missed already. I practice regulary. I don't know if it's just that I am not accustomed to this bow yet or not. Three of the misses have been point blank broadside shots and I never miss those. I am going to take the bow out back again and do some target shooting and see how it goes. Any suggestions from you guys. Good luck to everyone else out there. If the bow shoots good this afternoon I will try it again in the morning.

When you practice are you

When you practice are you shooting on the ground? I'm assuming your in a tree stand when you hunt. that could be the issue. when your in the tree the elevation angle will affect your shot. have you practiced shooting from an elevated position to simulate your tree stand? My brother has an older slower bow than mine so when shooting uphill or down hill he has to compensate more for that than i do. hopefully you can figure it out before the big boys come in broadside at 10yrds.LOL good luck.

I have always practiced on

I have always practiced on the ground and have never had this problem in the past. Maybe it is because the bow is slower, I don't know. I will try practicing from an elevated position and see what happens. Thanks for the tip.

I was out this morning and I

I was out this morning and I heard quite a few moving around before it got light. I only seen 1 once there was enough shooting light but it never came close enough though. It was a doe. I'm not sure when I will get back out again. I will be working every night now until Friday night. So, the rest of the week if I do get out it will only be in the evenings unless my boss will be nice and let me off early a morning or two this week. My son and I could have our bows back as early as Wednesday but it probably won't be until Friday. One side note, I did see three scrapes this morning. They were the first ones I seen this fall.

I did not get out Monday

I did not get out Monday evening. I will definitely be out there Tuesday evening. I'm not sure about Wednesday or thursday evening though. I'm going to try and talk my boss into letting me off early Friday morning so I can get after them Friday morning. I am off Friday night so I will probably be out there Saturday morning and evening. Beyond that I don't know. One thing I do know is my vacation starts October 26, and I don't go back to work until November 19th. Oh yeah, I can't wait.
