Bought my leftover tag.

Well I ran out and bought my leftover cow tag the other day. In my enthusiasm to buy another tag I didn't pay attention to what I already had and ended up with 2 cow tags.lol

Usually I have an either sex 4th season but since I won't be here then I got a 1st season cow for my other tag as 3rd choice in the draw. As a result I don't have a bull tag.

I thought about turning the 1st season tag in for a bull tag but if I did I would have to compete with my son or daughter in the 2nd season. I don't want to do that so I guess I'll just leave it alone and just hope for some meat this year.

My new tag is unit 10 private land that I hope to fill on my property in December or January if they move in.

Now we know what that upper

Now we know what that upper window is for on the cabin.

Just think if you fill all your tags you'll have over a 1000 lbs of meat in your freezer and won't have to worry about meat hunting for a few seasons. That is unless you are like me and give most of it away and then figure out that you gave too much away when you see the bottom of the freezer.

Yup,,I give lots of meat away

Yup,,I give lots of meat away in a normal year. I fill the freezer full then go form there. I know a couple needy families I try to help and also give quite a bit to the girls at work. They end up feeding me a lot of it anyway that way.lol

Plus my wife's older boy lives in Denver on his own struggling to get by and appreciates ant help he can get. And my son just rented his first place on his own so things are tight for him as well. There really isn't any such thing as too much or leftover meat when it's all said and done.

I got my left over tag also

I got my left over tag also for the 13-17 Nov season and have two cow tags. Never had an issue with giving away elk if I have to much. There always seems to be someone willing to take a few pounds off my hands.
