Blacktail Rut...When the heck is it?

Thumbs up I hunted the Skokomish GMU 636 near Deckerville last late bow season. I've hunted Sitkas many times on Kodiak, Afognak and Southeast Alaska the deer always rut anytime after the first week of November and the rut usually peaks for up to two weeks after. I expected the deer to be in rut late bow season here in SW Washington and they were definitely not. I was frustrated to hear the dear had rutted during the late modern firearm season, is that typical??!

around here it seems to fall usually right before or after late buck season

From my experience in the South Sound area (30 years) the last weekend in October to the second week in November is the largest amount of activity.

Rutting Blacktails.

I use to hunt in Sitka a lot. The deer there always started rutting mid October to early December. My old Boston Whaler would be full of deer after me and a couple friends would go hunting. It was awesome times. I figured late October here, but havent hunted here at all yet. This year is the first. Good luck.

Blacktail Rut

Do the blacktails in the Olympics and Southwest rut at different times than the blacktails around the Puget Sound area? It seems to me that the Blacktails in the Olympics and Southwest runt earlier, like in late October to the first week in Novemember. The deer in the Puget Sound region seem to rut after the first week of November through the sencond and third week
